My idea is to combine the boldness of the american rappers adverts but keep the uk industry being grime. My artist advert will be in the XXL magazine with the album cover being there and a picture of him performing on the cover as i believe this will attract the audience. I will do the background colour the same as Dr Dres cover (Grey) as the picture of the artist performing he is in all black so on grey this will stand out a lot. Also the first time most people will be seeing kameron (the artist) so therefore i will need a powerful image to draw there attention so they will be able to read up on him and hopefully begin to listen to his music or take a intrest in him.
I will upload the pictures and layout of the magazine
This is where i will edit using the software on photoshop to make a magazine advert supported by XXL. It will also feature a spot from my music freestyle video (ADTV).

Magazine Advert / Poster Research
Here is the research i have done on magazine adverts and posters to allow me to effectively produce mine to suit the needs of my consumers. I have done research on both the american rappers and the Uk urban grime scene.
Here you can see the iconic NWA star Dr Dre on the famous XXL magazines cover. As you can see there is a big picture of him which covers most of the magazines cover. And in big titles it says DR DRE. Also below this they include a rhetorical question being "yes detox is coming" which is the question most people ask when talking about DR DRE so this is an advertisement for his new album. You can see on the picture that he is playing chess, then you can see underneath it says "The master of the board finally returning to the game" This will tell the audience that dont know DR Dre that he is a legend and also tells them he is coming back. For the many that know Dr Dre they know that he is a legend so by calling him a master will not affect people due to them knowing about Dre's past history. The colours are very bold being him in all black with black chess pieces on a grey background so the black really stands out and looks very bold. The writing is in white as then this will stand out because it is on top of the black. The magazine title is bold and at the top of the page being in red and white making it the first thing your eye catches when seeing the magazine and is a very recognisable brand.

Here is the UK artist Skepta from Tottenham. As you can see it is the same sort of feel on the poster showing the artist wearing dark colours on a light background to show himself standing out. Also his facial expression is very similar to Dr Dres being serious, i believe they do this to portray the bad image they have gotten by the media being "bad" or "hood".
I will use both of these images and other magazine research to make my advert.

Filming and Editing progress
I have shot most of my filming and will upload screenshots. The editing needs to be dne but i have put a title in the video which i will also show these screenshots. The other editing i will use will be the metaphors he uses to add in a word or picture associated to it so viewers who cant tell word play will easily be able to see this. For example when he says "Put it in the grinder and grind it up" we will show a grinder grinding so it makes the video more interesting for viewers. The main target audience being grime and rap audience will understand the world play and metaphors but for the audience that wont know about it, it makes it more helpful.
I have also changed the idea to make it more off a freestyle music video like the main grime and rap youtube channels are doing at the moment where the artist can freestyle over a selected beat and is then recorded.

Digipack
This is my final digipack. Me and the artist sat down with this and believed it was the right album cover to go with the song. As the song is about his life then the 1st cover of the album you will see his name and as he talks about weed there is a roll up on the cover, but he is not promoting smoking as he says it just relates to the song. The back cover is a picture of him which has been digitally pixalated. This album back cover will have 6 songs on. All the song titles will be related to the lyrics of the song as i believe these are the most listened song and it will stay in the listeners head if the song title matches the lyrics. The inside left cover is a picture of a mic and a book that the artist (kameron) writes his lyrics in. this will give the listeners a look inside the artists life so they can try to relate to him. I kept the tray on a grey theme as i believe if you done it any other colour it would look awkward. I included the sidebar and named it "KD THE ALBUM" as this will stand out for the customers to see as it will be his first album released so customers need to be attracted to it.
Feedback from Mr miche and Mr ford - Change back text as takes away the theme of the album. In the inside of the cover the writing with the microphone it has purple / red writing so i could match these colours with the back cover and change the font to allow them to read it easily.

Update on filming
I had the idea to go backwards toward the song to show him at the studio in the beginning and going to the studio was meant to be the meaning on the video i felt it was very difficult to film in a tight cramped studio and the camera was not getting the shots in the correct place as the tripod i was using had 1 leg that was wobbly. I have decided to put the filming of each shot in pieces and see how it comes along if i put these shots together with a bit of animation to allow the video to be free flowing and not to look like random pieces of shots put together with no meaning as the song relates about his life so would want to show an outsider how he lives and what he does day to day in the space of 4 minutes.

Filming
Here is the filming for the majority of the the music video, we used a Sony camera with my cousins tracking rail. This worked very effectively as it was a freestyle video it allowed us to shoot from different ranges which makes the video more interesting. The problems with using this was that it was hard to move the camera slowly and film and when i did this we looked back over at the footage and it did not go with the lyrics as it looked more off a standing alone video which is boring compared to doing different angles. I will be re-filming this scene using the tracking rail again but make sure we use different angles also because it was mainly a mid shot which made it look like it was short movie rather than a music video with lots off different angles and going backwards in time which i first intended to do.

New storyboard Idea (Talk with Mr ford)
The idea that Mr ford presented to me and i think it is a very good idea and will make the music video unique is to not do it in a sequence but rather a backwards play starting from the studio and as he is rapping it shows the sequence to get to the studio and will include things that he is raping about, so it wont be flashbacks as i believe this will look childish and amateur but it will be shots after shots with smooth transitions to allow it to be professional. It will start from the 6th box and the sequence will work backwards till you release he is going (back to the studio) this will be successful as i don't think many people have done this before and it will keep the audience guessing where he is going till they know that as he opens the studio door it will be match on action where he will go back to the rapping.
